This particular kriegsmarine flag was the ensign of that collective body which absorbed all the German colonial organizations and was led by the illustrious hero Franz Ritter von Epp. It is printed on both sides with a golden-yellow, Wehrmacht-style national eagle superimposed over multicolored crossed grand admiral’s batons, each topped by a black Iron Cross in diamond-shaped borders and fluted end pieces. This rare ensign has the coveted “nips” on the edges that indicate it actually went to war and would beat against the pole in a brisk wind.

This is a nice Reichskriegsflagge that would have flown on all Kriegsmarine, (Navy), warships and Luftwaffe, (Air Force), planes as well as on all military barracks. It is the second pattern war flag that was in use from 1937 to 1945. It has the image of a German eagle with the lanyard tie and loops intact on the bunting edge and is in excellent plus condition. It is the best example of this particular kriegsmarine flag we have seen in decades.
