Obama To Copenhagen Is No Nixon To China

Published by Frosty the Know Man at 9:48 am under Public Opinion, The Economic Debate

Politico is reporting that President Obama will head to Copenhagen for the big United Nations meeting on global warming. The White House is spinning the trip as an opportunity for him to play world leader and build a consensus for action.

Our thought: bad political decision. He’s going to go empty-handed and the trip will only make him look increasingly weak before an increasingly disappointed world bureaucracy.

Hopefully he doesn’t start feeling the pressure and trying to push bad domestic policy to suck up to leaders of other countries. But as we always say, Hope Is Not A Plan.

There is no reason why we should continue complain about ‘bureaucracy’ but do nothing about it; after all bureaucracy is only the current system of management and control we choose to use. If we base organisation structure on the functions that enable organisations to deliver their purposes we have a different, could I say realistic, vision.

I have said it loud and clear a hundred thousand times:

The answer to so-called global warming or climate change can be found in the classics. Yes indeed “Chicken Little” and “The Boy Who Cried Wolf.”

They’re all you need to know.
