Fallout Continues for Hacked Global Warming Docs

Published by Frosty the Know Man at 10:07 am under The Science Debate

The news continues to pile up after hackers obtained allegedly damaging materials from British and American climate scientists who appear to have actively worked to push global warming alarmism.

As one might expect, the New York Times’s Andrew Revkin, viewed by many climate change skeptics as “in bed” with the pro-warming crowd, attempted to downplay the significance of the news:

The evidence pointing to a growing human contribution to global warming is so widely accepted that the hacked material is unlikely to erode the overall argument. However, the documents will undoubtedly raise questions about the quality of research on some specific questions and the actions of some scientists.

But even he couldn’t go without also noting:

In one e-mail exchange, a scientist writes of using a statistical “trick” in a chart illustrating a recent sharp warming trend. In another, a scientist refers to climate skeptics as “idiots.”

Myron Ebell responds, “Yes, that’s right, everyone knows that “trick” is used as a technical term in many professions. For example, in prostitution “trick” means….”

This fraud does not surprise me at all. Climate mania has always been about “Green” religion. It is an attempt to control and bleed global capitalism through socialist policies. It is, in the final analysis, a totalitarian reaction to production and distribution inequalities worldwide. It is well known that researchers in any field can be corrupted and seduced by altering data to produce or maintain results that reinforce their funding sources or dispute their critics. We have had radical climate change during the entire history of the planet. Massive ice ages have come and gone and help shape the geomorphic results around the planet. What was once lush forest and jungle is now desert. Extinctions and evolutionary change are normal. Carbon is essential to life, like water and sunlight. The idea that man is mostly responsible for climate change is preposterous.
