Global Warming Skeptics Called Crazy

Published by Frosty the Know Man at 8:35 am under General

Well, this is troubling: The American Psychological Association has given a rough profile of reasons people might be skeptical of global warming and put together some recommendations on how to manipulate the public into action. Reuters reports:

Numerous psychological barriers are to blame, the task force found, including: uncertainty over climate change, mistrust of the messages about risk from scientists or government officials, denial that climate change is occurring or that it is related to human activity.

Those don’t sound so much like psychological barriers as … actual reasons. The shrinks may want to stick to messing up peoples’ minds and leave the science and economic policy to others.

    Actually, it makes perfect sense.

When it comes to AGW certainty, the people who know the least about climate change mechanisms and issues are usually the most certain (that humans are the only cause, and only taxes and jackboots can save the planet). Or in their case, several expensive couch sessions and propoganda campaigns.

The more I have learned about climate, the more I see a lot of smoke, mirrors and hyperbole. Perhaps they will add “having knowledge” to the next DSM and I will be officially crazy on several fronts.

Why am I skeptical of global warming? Because I am a scientist, and I have yet to see anything that amounts to scientific proof or even “a balance of evidence” suggesting mankind is responsible for what appears to be a perfectly natural variation in the climate.

On the other hand, there is a lot of evidence that groups of people do show mass hysteria and if these psychologists want their subject to be accepted within the umbrella of real science, then they should stop talking such claptrap.

Remember people that The American Psychological Association is a far left group that looks at people who engage in behavior that society may deem as, well, let’s say, unusual, and elevate the status of this group to normal and healthy. On the other hand, why would anyone be surprised that normal behavior, such as displaying skepticism during the scientific process, would be defined by the APA as wacky and weird? derekcrane

It seems pretty straightforward to me. You AGW denier cultists are in a state of pathologically denying reality, believing nonsense propaganda that suits your ideological bias, suffering from paranoid delusions about a worldwide conspiracy involving hundreds of thousands of climate scientists in cahoots to fool the public and governments, and generally believing any deranged drivel appearing on any of your cult blogs. You’re not just completely wacko, you’re really stupid and ignorant to boot.
