Obama claimed that the average American would not bear the brunt of this historic tax-increase: he stated that instead ““It is paid for by the polluters who currently emit dangerous carbon emissions.”

Just compare this outrageous falsehood to Ronald Reagans’ timeless quote:

“The most dangerous myth is the demagoguery that business can be made to pay a larger share, thus relieving the individual. Politicians preaching this are either deliberately dishonest, or economically illiterate, and either one should scare us.

…Only people pay taxes, and people pay as consumers every tax that is assessed against a business.”

And after the way the rammed this through the House with little debate, without legislators even reading it… and while quarantining the GOP from any meaningful input whatsoever, any foolhardy individuals who still believe Obama’s threadbare “bipartisanship” spiel ought to have their head examined.

Obama TALKS bipartisanship but doesn’t PRACTICE it.

He TALKS fiscal responsibility but only after APPROVING a huge Democrat “stimulus” plan which hasn’t “stimulated,” a huge “budget” which “budgeted” thousands of pork projects, setting aside 634 billion – yes, billion, with a B – for healthcare reform, pouring billions into GM and Chrysler to prevent their going into bankruptcy and then, when bankruptcy inevitably came anyway, cheating first-in-line investors (according to contract and bankruptcy law) in favor of his union buddy supporters, and increasing, within five months in office, the national debt by more than ALL previous presidents in our history.

Obama TALKS energy independence but doesn’t push Congress to open up developing our own extensive resources of offshore oil, natural gas and coal, as well as building more nuke plants, WHILE developing cleaner energy sources like solar and wind, as well as the distribution grid which will be necessary to make their use practical. Instead, he favors Congress passing cap-and-trade, which will increase energy taxes on all Americans and which is based on increasingly questionable climate change “science” anyway.

I could give many more examples but the point is, Obama TALKS a lot. He’s on TV, talking, talking, talking ALL the time – every day, sometimes more than once or twice a day. More of us need to stop listening that what he SAYS and watching what he DOES.

The one silver lining is that Obama had to compromise and the House version gives away 85% of the allowances free for now and defers the cost. Hopefully, it will be repealed if it passes the US Senate.
The bill calls for 80% of our energy from renewables by 2050. It’s so much grandstanding, who will be around by that time? It could be quietly repealed years down the road and forgotten. I’m still writing my elected officials to vote against it.

If the politicians want to REALLY do something for the good of the country, why don’t they “PUT THEIR ACTIONS WHERE THEIR MOUTHS ARE”? Take themselves off their “gravy train” full pay retirements!!! Normal citizens can’t work a few years and then retire at the pay that the politicians get for life. And, what did the politicians do while in office????? Nothing but fill their pockets with as much money as they could steal!!! And, the American people sit back and say, “They’re such a pretty couple and those kids are so sweet. And, Obama is trying so hard, but Bush left this country in such a mess that’s it’s going to take a lot of sacrifice FROM US to straighten it out!!

    Wake up you stupid Americans!!!

I sent a sarcastic letter via email to my congressman, Steve Rothman, thanking him for raising my taxes through his vote for the cap and trade bill.

The only reason that such a farce as the cap and trade bill exists and was given to Waxman and Markey to co-sponsor was to cover up one of the biggest rip offs in our nations history. The whole idea was conceived by a group of lobbyists in Washington D.C. who approached Al Gore as their spokesman. He in turn sold this bill of goods to a number of Congressmen and guess what? These turncoats will rake in billions of dollars, as if they do not already have millions. Gore flitted around the world for 2 years in a jet that permeated the atmosphere with a great deal of carbon. Do you hear anyone talking about the pollution Mr. Gore created and continues to do so.
Has anyone read the reports on global warming written by NASA that they found in their space explorations? The thing about this that really galls me is
these people who are supposed to represent the American citizens are selling our country to foreign governments for 30 pieces of gold. Our elected so-called representatives and president is doing all of these things, trampling
on the rest of us because they have NO conscience. They just plain do not care! We need to run the money changers out of our country.

I am writing all my elected senate representatives and urging them to vote against the cap and trade bill. I hope many other individuals will do the same.

I too have written my Senators concerning Cap and Trade, but they just do as they please any way. One of them always votes along party lines, so there is no surprise there either!
That’s why I say change the Congress, vote them ALL out!!
